Shanna Sun

Hi, I'm Shanna.

I spent years helping other people "fix" their eating while quietly struggling with my own. I knew all the rules — macros, food combining, clean eating, intuitive eating frameworks — and I still found myself standing in the grocery store frozen, anxious, and completely at war with myself.

What actually changed things wasn't learning more information. It was finally understanding the why behind my patterns: the emotions food had gotten tangled up with, the habits I'd built without realizing it, the stories I'd been telling myself since childhood.

That's what I help people do now. Through Cakewalk Coaching, I combine practical nutrition with eating psychology so you can understand your own relationship with food — and actually trust yourself around it.

NBC-HWC · Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor · Cakewalk Coaching

This is for you if...

  • You've been "good" all week and then eaten half the pantry on Sunday night
  • You stand in the grocery store overwhelmed by labels, ingredients, and what's even allowed
  • You know what you're "supposed" to eat — and you still can't seem to just do it
  • Food is taking up more mental space than your actual relationships, your work, and your life
  • Every new diet starts with hope and ends somewhere around the couch with a bowl of shame
  • You want to feel normal around food and you honestly can't remember what that felt like

If you recognized yourself in any of that — you're not broken. You just haven't had the right support.

The Cakewalk Method

Most people come to me exhausted from trying to figure this out alone. Here's how the work actually goes.

I guide you

We get clear on what's really happening

In the early sessions, I take the lead. We look at your patterns, your history, and what food has meant in your life — without any judgment. You don't need to have answers. I'll ask the right questions.

We work together

You start making changes that actually stick

We build a way of eating that fits your real life — not a plan handed down from a chart. Something we create together, one that you actually want to follow because it came from understanding you.

You've got this

You leave knowing you can handle it

The goal was never for you to need me forever. By the time we're done, you'll know how to read your own signals, navigate the grocery store, handle social situations, and trust yourself around food.

Questions people actually ask

What happens on the free intro call?
It's a 30-minute conversation — no forms, no homework beforehand. We'll talk about where you are with food right now, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping to change. At the end, I'll tell you honestly whether I think coaching would help, and if so, which level makes sense for where you are. You'll leave with clarity either way.
Do I have to pay before booking a paid session?
Yes. For Monthly Accountability, Weekly Coaching, and Deep Dive packages, payment is processed when you book — that's what holds your spot. The free intro call requires no payment at all.
What's the refund policy?
If you decide in the first two sessions that coaching isn't the right fit, I'll refund the remaining unused sessions in full. After that, packages are non-refundable — but I will always work with you to adjust our approach if something isn't landing. See the full Refund Policy for details.
Can I reschedule a session?
Yes, with 24 hours notice you can reschedule any session at no cost. Late cancellations — less than 24 hours — or no-shows forfeit that session. Life happens and I understand that; just reach out as soon as you know.
Are sessions virtual?
Yes, all sessions are held over Zoom. That means you can work with me from anywhere in the US, in whatever space is comfortable for you — your kitchen, your car, your couch. It doesn't need to be formal.
Who is this coaching for — and who is it not for?
Coaching is for people who are ready to do real work — not just get a food list. It's a good fit if you're motivated but stuck, and genuinely open to exploring the emotional and behavioral side of eating. It's not the right fit if you're currently in active treatment for an eating disorder (I'm not a therapist and this is not medical care), or if you're looking for a rigid meal plan to follow. If you're not sure, book the intro call — that's exactly what it's for.
